Sun Catcher:
A Narrative Paint
By Numbers

Find hidden stained glass art and restore it through paint-by-numbers gameplay … with a few twists! With each new piece brought back to life, you’ll peel back the layers on Grandma Iris’ past and uncover a heartfelt story about art, family, and the expectations that shape us for better or worse.

Together, Kit and Iris stop at three locations of significance to Iris. At each one, Kit and Grandma Iris find multiple broken pieces of stained glass that she once made: a lamp, a comb, a necklace, etc. By fixing the items (through paint-by-numbers gameplay enhanced with never-before-seen power ups!), Iris recovers her lost memories and reconnects with the people she knew.  Sun Catcher is great for children and seniors, playing separately or together.

ABOUT THIS GAME

It’s summer vacation, and Kit is worried about Grandma Iris’ memory. When Kit and Iris fix up an old stained glass suncatcher that Iris made, and discover that working on it returns some of her lost memories, Kit has a new mission: the two of them are going to visit Grandma’s stained glass pieces around town!

PAINT WITH POWER

Use unique power moves to add flair to your painting—from the Colour Blast, which fills every cell of a specific colour in an instant, to the Radial Burst, which fills all the cells covered by its pulsing circle. These moves are recharged as you paint, and can be used as often — or as little — as you like.

PLAY AT ANY AGE OR SKILL LEVEL

Sun Catcher was made with accessibility as a core pillar. The game has a clean, striking interface with helpful hints and guiding elements that automatically ramp up based on player action. We want all players, from children to seniors, to find their comfort zone in the game and stay there for as long as they’d like.

“PAINT” BY NUMBERS

Restore beautifully hand-drawn stained glass pictures, with soothing paint-fill mechanics, while listening to cozy, relaxing music. Each completed piece reveals more of the story that ties the experience together.

BRING BACK IRIS’ MEMORIES

Kit’s Grandma Iris lived an incredible life, but she can’t remember all of it anymore. Help the two of them uncover the parts of the past she’s forgotten, and discover the complex relationship she had with her husband, the friends she made along the way, and the legacy of her stained glass art.

PLAY AT YOUR OWN PACE

There are no timers, and no scores — you’re free to choose your approach. Want to relax after a long day? Take it easy and keep things cozy. Want to challenge yourself and blitz through? Go ahead! The game won’t judge.

ABOUT THE DEVELOPER

Ludic Lemur makes games that are radically playful. A queer women-led indie studio, we’re on a search for new play and new players. We believe that well-designed games help people grow, joyously improving lives and society. That’s why we make games that expand play to a new level of inclusivity.

Ludic Lemur’s first game was an experimental interactive audio narrative called Calm the Storm, which was nominated in the Achievements in Accessibility category at the Indie Game Awards in 2025. Our queer horror narrative deck-builder, Monsterhearts: Welcome to Drowned Lake, will be released in 2026.
